Max-It Forward
Maxwell Parr
When we max-it forward, we also honour the late Maxwell Parr.
When the world lost Maxwell it lost a GIVER! After his passing, he was awarded the 2023 Verdun Volunteer of the Year for his work with food insecurity, and community gardens in the borough of Verdun, Montreal, Quebec; being an organ donor, he was awarded the Health Ambassador of Canada designation. Fortunately, Transplant Quebec does not discriminate against organ donors from the gay community, unlike some other places.
During his short 26 years, Maxwell was always paying it forward, "Max-it Forward" was created to continue his work. Donating quilts to charity is important, and our makers continue to do so, but quilts don’t put food on the table. This is a way for makers to pay it forward, one quilt at a time.
So wrap yourself in a cozy quilt and know that your dollars will be put to work helping these smaller community groups. Thank you in advance for your support.
